Very often, a child develops a sense of security based on his experiences at home. If parents openly show love for each other and do not quarrel in front of the child, he will feel safe and this in turn helps him develop his self-confidence. There is a saying,
"The best gift for a child is a harmonious relationship between parents."
Some couples may have neglected their marriage as they focus on children and their careers. Thus, their spouse becomes less important. The relationship either stagnates or deteriorates. As such, couples should give themselves time to build on their relationship as it affects the well-being of their children. What spouses can do are:
- Show appreciation to each other in front of the children. Do not take things for granted. Words such as "Please", "Thank you", "I miss you", and "I love you" are important.
- Do something special for your partner. Do something you are familiar with and it can help you and your partner rekindle the kind of passionate feelings you have for each other.
